Oh, did I mention I got a dog?

Yeah, I did, and it’s probably the one constant wish I’ve had since I was a child. I’ve always wanted a dog, and could never have it for a variety of factors. But, now I do, and it’s great. Just great?! No, it’s FANTASTIC! She’s been everything I wished for and more. I’ve been losing weight from walking her, and feeling a lot more relaxed when she’s around… well, it was a bit stressful on the first week with her, but to be fair, I was working a lot. Barely saw my wife during that time, and all of a sudden we get a dog a little by surprise. Not that we weren’t looking, but we just didn’t expect to adopt her on the day we met her. And yet, my wife Donna and I just totally fell in love with her the minute we saw her.

It’s been a little over 2 months since we adopted her, and it feels like a lifetime already. Kit is almost 2 years old, though she behaves like a puppy. She’s so full of energy, but is also really calm at home, and rarely barks or makes a fuss. Of course, it took a while to decide to get a dog, and a little longer to find the right breed and dog for us. Luckily, my friend Shervin introduced me to the  breed and after some research, Donna and I realized that was the perfect breed for us (not to mention the fact that we already saw a few in Japan during our trip back in October).

Of course, I have to thank Michelle at the Southern California Shiba Inu Rescue for helping us find the perfect shiba for us. She was a great mediator between us and owners and shelters and she made our job so much easier. Thanks Michelle!

Much like the early buds that begin to bloom before spring, Kit is our little winter blossom.
