Metaphorically speaking, but OF COURSE I WANNA GO BACK!
But, you better pack a lunch cuz this is gonna be one long post.
And may I recommend using my wife’s Flickr page (http://www.flickr.com/photos/85098170@N00/sets/72157625224338273/) of our trip as a visual companion. I included a set of sketches below, so if you don’t want to read my thoughts on the trip, just scroll all the way down to a modest gallery of drawings. We were literally walking so much and trying to see so much, that I really didn’t even have time to take my sketch journal out of my bag to sketch. But, I think looking at these sketches now certainly helps put things in perspective. Then again, this post is much more a an emotional and stream of consciousness account of what I experienced rather than a day by day diary. So, here we go.
Yeah, I’m back at work on “Hockey, Love, & GUTS!” and it feels great once again! I can’t believe it’s been 6 months since the last installment, and unfortunately, it might be a few more until the next (I’m hoping to have chapter 5 done by early December… crossing my fingers here.) Thumbnails and script are done, and I’m a few pages into the roughs now. It’s 35 pages, and it seems that chapters are getting longer and longer! I really gotta find a good page length so I can put them out faster (15-20 pages is just fine, but I really needed all of these 35 pages to be chapter 5, so sorry.) Anyway, here’s a teaser.
I thought the scrapbook concept matches the high school girl drama… maybe. Well, I was also scrambling to do something quick and in color, and this is what came out. I geek about manga and a trip to Japan after the jump
As the title of the post says, here is the story for “The Hairdresser’s Nightmare”.
After months of writing and rewriting, and after not touching it for a while, I decided to just post the entire story here. Also, since so much of my professional storyboard work can’t be posted online yet, I thought about sharing what I’ve been up to lately, so here it is.

Something that started out as my usual red pen on smooth newsprint sketch turned out to be a good figure to practice some color design. So, after an hour or two here it is. Enjoy.
